Is this the original Word Bomb?
Yes. The original iOS game is Word Bomb: Word Puzzle Game, by Matthew Holdsworth, Apple ID 6752510197. Voyage is a separate app with different gameplay.
Has the major update been released?
The App Store listing shows the current public version. TestFlight versions may differ, so confirm your version when requesting help. Classic and Voyage are separate games.
An online feature or sign-in does not work.
The original online service is unavailable. Its replacement is available only to the rebuilt Classic 1.1.0 beta; it does not reconnect the old app. Do not remove the app or reset local data as a troubleshooting step. Contact support with the app version and the feature involved, without your password.
Can you recover my old account or scores?
Recovery of historical online accounts or scores is not guaranteed. The upcoming update may require re-registration, and will explain any account changes before use. Keep your existing local data until you have reviewed that information.
What should I include in a support request?
Use “Original Word Bomb” in the subject. Include your app version, device model, iOS version, what happened and what you expected. Please do not send passwords, payment-card information or an export containing account tokens.
Using Classic 1.1.0 or TestFlight?
The rebuilt version creates a new account with Sign in with Apple. TestFlight uses Apple’s sandbox purchase environment. It cannot recover the deleted old profiles or balances. Read the beta service privacy information before signing in. Keep local saves, follow the current TestFlight test notes, and contact support if a balance or item action is not confirmed. Never repeatedly purchase to resolve an unfinished transaction; use Restore or contact support.
Private Phrase Relay and dictionary help in 1.2
These instructions cover Classic 1.2 and its TestFlight builds; check the App Store listing for the current public version. For Phrase Relay, both friends sign in with Apple, accept friendly-play rules and share a private invitation. Use two to four English words of four to eight letters each. Take turns setting and solving; drop or discard letters and request free partial clues. Custom challenges have private non-ranked completion records, not global competitive scores.
Report abuse and block is available within a challenge, including after completion. It immediately ends the challenge and prevents rematching with that opponent. Email support@wordbomb.app for safety or account help, with the app version and challenge identifier if relevant; do not send secrets or personal information inside a game phrase.
Open Dictionary from Home or word history, or tap a discovered word’s definition control. Build 194 and later bundle 97,566 English reference headwords for offline lookup, with sourced base-word meanings for many inflections. Older 1.2 test builds have only the original glossary and optional iOS dictionaries. Some inherited game-list entries, including FRIS, have no verified English definition; saved discoveries are preserved. Missing definitions do not invalidate a playable word. Controls can be displayed in Spanish, but definitions and playable vocabulary remain English. Sources, licences and reference data.
Word length
Classic words must contain 4–8 letters. Three-letter words such as MOP do not score; MOPS can score when its four letters are contiguous in any of the eight directions.
Definition-backed new games · build 195 beta
Build 195 introduces a versioned list of 42,435 four-to-eight-letter English words. Every newly scored word on that policy carries a real source meaning or an explicitly source-listed form and base-word explanation. This smaller playable list is separate from the broader 97,566-headword dictionary. Names, abbreviations and unverified historical entries are not automatically admitted.
Existing unversioned saved games keep their original rules and are labelled Legacy save. They may still contain historical entries without verified definitions; those discoveries and existing scores are preserved. Start a new game to use the definition-backed policy. Exclusion from the new list is not a declaration that a term is linguistically invalid. Controls may be Spanish; definitions and playable vocabulary remain English. This beta information does not mean build 195 is publicly released.

Apple Game Center internal beta
Open Apple Game Center · Challenges in a supported internal build. This is separate from Shop sign-in. Start a fresh unassisted English challenge; only completed word points qualify. Shuffle, vowels, inventory and saving are unavailable in that mode. Leaving early abandons the Apple record. Retry pending records after connecting the same Game Center player. Never send passwords or codes to support.
App-version association and signed-in Apple service validation remain pending; this is not a promise of availability in the published version.
Rollout: the 1.2.1 (197) repair is being prepared. Duel becomes available only when the Classic service enables its capability; this does not make the deleted former service available in old binaries.
Classic private Duel and account connection
Classic Duel is a separate optional three-minute, invitation-code match using a signed-in Classic account. Both players receive the same server-owned letter sequence; the service validates drops, boards, words and scores. Sharing a code lets another signed-in player take its second seat, so keep it private. The opponent sees your score, word count and completion state, not your Apple identifier or full board.
The Classic VPS stores participant account IDs, room codes, letter sequences, board/move state, score and timestamps for match operation and reconnect/retry protection. Waiting rooms close after ten minutes and rounds end after three minutes; closing a match does not immediately erase its records. Account deletion removes associated active match records. This mode has no free-text messages, public feed, currency prizes, paid advantages or fabricated players. Community publication and secret-phrase challenges remain disabled.
Sign in with Apple for Classic is separate from Apple Game Center. A network failure must not permanently hide account controls: the repair adds Retry online connection and a bounded authorization exchange. Offline solo play, local saves and the reviewed English validation/meaning corpus do not wait for dictionary APIs. Older saves keep their original word rules. Service or Apple sign-in failures do not grant a session, credits or a successful purchase.
