The player guide

Find the word.
Make the shot.

Three ways to play, thirty campaign islands and room to learn a little with every word.

Aim with intention.

Choose a mode in the Harbor. Drag on the battlefield to set your direction, or use the Angle and Power controls. Angle raises the arc; power carries it further. You can fire up and over nearer flags. Only FIRE launches a ball. The short gold indicator shows the starting direction, without giving away the landing point.

Target letters: follow the order.

Hit the letters in the displayed word from left to right. For SAIL, collect S, A, I and L. A wrong flag costs a shot but stays available. Each word stops when complete; continue to the second word, then the next island. If there are too few shots left to finish, retry the word for free.

Word Hunt: solve the secret.

The game chooses a hidden word and gives you a clue. Fire at the crew’s letter flags to reveal one occurrence at a time. Double letters need separate hits. A correct letter and a needed vowel are kept available among the random crew when possible. A crew member stays until hit or deliberately sent down the plank.

Guess as often as you like before the timer expires. A wrong letter is removed from the remaining selection; a shot that misses the flags does not spend a guess. The clock starts on the first shot and pauses for arriving crew. Choose Relaxed before your first shot for an untimed puzzle. Select Short through Expert for words that grow in length and complexity.

Walk the plank lets you replace a flag without guessing it. Start with two skips, earn two by solving a word and keep up to five. When empty, an optional rewarded ad can provide two more skips once per word if available. Remove Ads hides that offer; you can still earn skips through play.

Letter cannon: match the queue.

The loaded letter is fixed. Aim at its matching flag, then fire. A miss recycles that letter to the back of the queue. Read the loaded letter and the physical route together.

Collect a new possibility.

In the campaign, fire through supply crates to earn special ammunition. Blast explodes against timber and glass. Bounce ricochets off iron. Frost stills moving scenery and the clock for eight seconds. Heavy breaks through one barrier and continues at reduced speed. Every letter still needs a direct cannonball hit; explosion debris never fills a word.

Supplies last for that word. A retry keeps the puzzle and crates so you can learn the route. Choosing ammo is free and pauses the game. Firing spends one supply and a shot.

Recovery, without a paywall.

In Target letters, Undo returns the last collected letter to its flag without refunding the shot or ammunition. Beat the tide allows one Undo per word; Relaxed allows more while shots remain. Letter cannon follows its queue instead. Hold and Rally are available once per word. Retry, abilities, every island, all companions and seasonal themes are free.

Keep a Word Book.

After a word is solved or revealed, open its learning card for an original definition and example sentence. The Harbor’s Word Book keeps your discoveries, with language filters and search. Meanings are bundled for offline reading; iOS may offer additional dictionary meanings. Your history stays on your device.

A daily tide. A friendly challenge.

Daily voyages share a UTC seed and island for each language and ruleset. Game Center keeps Target Letters and Letter Cannon scores separate, with daily boards and campaign mastery. Five achievements reward timed campaign milestones. Two-player cannon duels use matching boards, three rounds and replay-checked scores, with no paid advantage. On iOS 26, friend challenges connect to the daily boards. Game Center is optional; solo play works offline.

Choose the season. Keep the rules.

Halloween has a moonlit lantern harbor; Christmas brings snowy shores, warm lights and festive crew; New Year lights the night with gold and mint. The selected look carries into Word Hunt and Pirate Cove. Space and coral worlds retain their own setting with seasonal decorations. Choose any theme free, or follow the UTC calendar. Decorations do not change collisions or scores.
